There are nine full time safety advisors within the Fleming group safety department providing specialist advice and assistance to our on site management. The Fleming group is unique in that the Safety dept and Advisors are fully integrated into the site management teams where safety is managed as part of the overall running of the site rather than being enforced by the department.
To consolidate the efforts being made the company applied for the Safe –T- Cert which is an IOSH and CIF recognized certification of having and operating a safety management system. The certificate was granted following in dept auditing process in 2003. The recertification process was carried out in December 2004.see attached certificate.
We retain the services of an independent external auditing consultant to carry out regular on the spot audits, this allows for an unbiased snap shot of how each site is performing at a given time. The results of these audits are scored and the information is fed back to our managing director and contracts directors.
